Sigfús Einarsson

Sigfús Einarsson (born January 30, 1877 in Eyrarbakki , † May 10, 1939 in Reykjavík ) was an Icelandic composer.

Einarsson was self-taught. He worked as a singing teacher, conductor and since 1913 organist at the Dómkirkjan in Reykjavík and is considered one of the founders of an independent Icelandic music.

He composed piano pieces, songs and choral works. His cantata became particularly well known .
