In Germanic mythology, Sigi is the son of Odin and the forefather of the Wölsungen family .
It was after the murder of another man's servant Bredi restless and had to leave his home. With Odin's assistance, he conquered an empire, married the daughter of a subjugated prince, fathered a son, Rerir , and ruled over the Huneland (possibly Franconia ). When he became an old man, his wife's brothers attacked him faithlessly and killed him and his entourage. Rerir avenged the murder of his father and became an even more powerful king than Sigi.
