Sigitas Jakubauskas (born December 29, 1958 in Kaunas ) is a former Lithuanian soccer player and current soccer coach. The trained defender played for VMFD Žalgiris Vilnius and most recently for FC Remscheid .
Career
Jakubauskas played from 1978 to 1989 for the Lithuanian club VMFD Žalgiris Vilnius, where he was named the best footballer of the year in Lithuania in 1982. In 1990 he came to Germany for the second division club FC Remscheid , where he scored a. a. six hits for the Bergische. Today the former player lives in Germany and trained the second team of FC Remscheid until June 2010, before he took over the post of assistant coach of the first team on July 1, 2010.
On August 7, 1985 he also played his only international match for the national soccer team of the USSR against Romania.
