Signal schedule

Extract from a signal schedule

The signal schedule with time scale is used to graphically display the signal program of a traffic light system . The individual signal groups of the traffic light system are listed on the left. Within the schedule are signal times , so green - and red phases applied in seconds. So-called phase transitions or yellow phases take place between the phases for motor vehicles . The point in time at which there is a change in the signaling status is referred to as the start point . The entire process from left to right represents one cycle and corresponds to the cycle time of the traffic light system. The moment at which the signal program is started is called the switch-on time .

The plan can be developed with the help of special IT programs (e.g. CROSSIG , LISA + , Sitraffic Office), as the overview can easily be lost at large intersections with a large number of signal groups and traffic flows. In addition to the signal schedule, an interim time matrix is also created for a node .
