CROSSIG (proper spelling CROSSIG ) is a software package for planning traffic signals . It is used by traffic engineers to calculate and evaluate traffic light controls for individual nodes , for green waves and for road networks . Using a genetic algorithm , the traffic light control can also be mathematically optimized for an entire road network. Furthermore, there are interfaces for testing the planned control in VISSIM .
