The Signature Ordinance ( Ordinance on Electronic Signature ; SigV ) supplemented the Signature Act with individual regulations on the requirements for certification service providers and the products and procedures to be used for the creation of certificates and signatures. It also specified the cost regulation in § 22 SigG . In Annex 1, it also made detailed specifications for checking products for qualified electronic signatures.
The regulation was revised on November 16, 2001. The authorization to issue ordinances can be found in § 24 SigG . The Signature Ordinance and its legal basis expired on July 29, 2017 ( Art. 12 Paragraph 1 No. 2 of the eIDAS Implementation Act). The legal basis for the following ordinances is § 20 of the Trust Services Act .
