Sigram Schindler

Sigram Schindler (born February 1, 1936 in Łódź ) is a German university professor and entrepreneur.

Schindler is the son of the businessman Hugo Schindler and his wife Alice. After graduating from high school in 1956, Schindler studied mathematics and physics in Berlin. After his diploma thesis on the non-relativistic theory of elementary particles (Schrödinger theory), he worked as an assistant at the TU Berlin and wrote a dissertation on satellite mechanics (optimal orbit transfers). His habilitation took place in the field of computer science operating systems . In 1971, Schindler co-founded computer science training at German universities. At the same time, he was involved in the preparation, detailed definition, founding and administrative implementation of the computer science department at the TU Berlin. Since 1972 he has been a university professor for operating systems (later also communication systems ) in the computer science department at the TU Berlin, since 1974 full professor in this field - after several appointments from other universities. Until his retirement in 2001, he was an employee of numerous national and international committees for the further development, promotion and standardization of future IT technologies, in particular LAN , telecommunications, text and security technologies.

In 1983 Schindler founded TELES GmbH . In 1997, Schindler was named High-Tech Manager of the Year by Manager Magazin . Since 2002 he has been a member of the economic council of the CDU and a member of the association of providers of telecommunications and value-added services .
