Silber was a German rock band .

history

Silber was founded by members of the ex-band Weissglut after they broke up in 2002. The founding members all come from Weissglut , with the exception of Oli Emmrich, who joined as a second guitarist instead of a permanent keyboardist.

After founding Silber, ex-singer Josef Maria Klumb secured the band name "Weissglut" again. In 2006 the rumor arose that Klumb had found new members with whom he wanted to found Weissglut again.

Musically and textually, Silber's debut of the same name is similar to the Weissglut album Zeichen . The success was acceptable, but it did not come close to the sales figures of the two Weissglut albums.

The cover artwork is much quieter than Weissglut was the case, with which the band wanted to get away from their dark image. It also doesn't seem impossible that the name change was made because Josef Maria Klumb gave the band a right-wing extremist image.
