Weissglut (own spelling: WEISSGLUT) was a German band from Bingen am Rhein , which was assigned to the New German Hardship . It broke up in 2002 after the third album, but existed under the band name Silber in the formation of the third album until 2007.

history

Weissglut released their first album in 1998 under the title Weissglut . A few months later, she was signed by Sony . There the album was released again, this time under the title Something comes into your world . The new version differed only slightly from the first, because only a new song was added and a new cover designed.

In January 1999 the band separated from Josef Maria Klumb , who was accused of harboring right-wing extremist ideas. The conception of the text, which was previously in the hands of Klumb, has now been taken over by the new singer Tom von Koengelen, who, however, could fall back on text fragments.

The third album followed in 2000, after which the band broke up. However, Klumb secured the naming rights to "Weissglut" after the band continued under the new name Silber . Klumb managed to start the band again with a new line-up, but the project was short-lived. Weissglut played a single concert in Munich on December 12, 2002 , after which Klumb broke up the band for personal reasons.

Others

  • The release In the Dust of the Rebellion is a remastered demo recording that was released by the producer without the band's consent.
  • Out of darkness into light is a compilation of older Weissglut titles, mainly from demo recordings.
