Silent Edge is a Dutch power and progressive metal band from Den Bosch that was founded in 1999.
history
The band was founded in 1999 by keyboardist Minggus Gaspersz and guitarist Emo Suripatty. In the same year singer Willem Verwoert joined the cast. In August 2000, the band recorded a first demo, which they released in the same year. It was declared demo of the month in the November issue of Aardschok . Because of this, and by playing many gigs, the band received so much attention that they were able to play at ProgPower Europe in October 2001. In December 2001, the band won the Metal Bash , a competition hosted by Aardschok magazine. Thus DVS Records became aware of the band and reached a contract with the group.
In 2002, the band went to New Road Music Studios in Wijchen , the Netherlands , to record their debut album The Eyes of the Shadow . Marco Kleinnibbelink (ex- Dead Head ) joined the cast as the drummer . The album was released in June 2003.
style
The band plays progressive Power Metal, which contains varied and often very complex passages.
