Silentbloc

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Silentbloc - also Silentblock (plural Silentblocs or Silentblocks) - is a connecting element called by the manufacturer Boge GmbH with an intermediate layer of rubber . This dampens the transmission of sound and vibrations between the connected parts .

Application examples are engine mountings, the attachment of stabilizers in automobile construction or the damped decoupling of machines from the building floor.

The rubber element is vulcanized onto the outer metal parts according to a patent from Boge GmbH (manufactured since 1934) . Since the patent expired, there have also been other manufacturers and other names: buffer, round buffer, rubber buffer ( rubber buffer - PU buffer ) or anti-vibration element .

In contrast to a silent bushing (also called a rubber bearing), the Silentbloc does not have a pivot bearing .
