The Siljan region is located in the province of Dalarna in central Sweden and was formed by a meteorite impact around 360 million years ago.
The path mostly leads along old alpine hut paths through slightly hilly terrain; extensive forests and wetlands alternate. You pass many small lakes and cultural, historical and natural sights.
