The Silvan Dam is a planned or already under construction dam in the Silvan District , Diyarbakır Province , in southeastern Turkey . It is part of the Anatolian GAP dam project . The dammed river is the Kulp Çayı , a source river of the Batman Çayı , in the catchment area of the Tigris .
At the reservoir , a target hydroelectric power plant to be operated, which has a power output of 240 MW, and can produce an annual energy of 964 GWh.
The rock embankment dam will be 188 m high and the reservoir will hold 6.84 billion m³ of water.
