Simon de Rojas
Simón de Rojas OSST (born October 28, 1552 in Valladolid , Spain , † September 28, 1624 in Madrid ) was a Spanish religious and founder. He is a saint in the Catholic Church.
Simon joined the Trinitarian order at the age of 16 and was ordained priest in 1577 . From 1588 he worked as superior of several Trinitarian monasteries in Spain. Simon finally became Provincial of the Trinitarian Order in Castile in 1621 . He also worked as a pastor and advisor to King Philip II. Simon was also used for the upbringing and education of Philip IV . Simon also worked as a benefactor of the slums of Madrid. Simon de Rojas strongly promoted the devotion of Mary and for this purpose founded the religious institute in 1611 # differentiation between orders and congregations of servants of the sweetest name Maria .
Simon de Rojas was born in 1766 by Pope Clement XIII. beatified. In 1988 Pope John Paul II canonized him.
