Sima Avramović ( Serbian - Cyrillic Сима Аврамовић , born July 19, 1950 in Belgrade , Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian lawyer and legal historian , Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Belgrade and President of the Senate of the University of Belgrade . His main research interests are comparative legal history , Roman law and rhetoric .

Avramović studied in Belgrade until 1977 and completed his studies with a thesis on the municipal law of Gortys . In 1981 he completed his doctorate with a thesis on testamentary freedom in ancient Greece . In the following year he became an assistant professor , in 1988 an associate professor at the University of Belgrade, before being appointed to a chair in 1993 , which he still holds today.
