Simon Alfred Franz Emil von Oppenheim

Simon Alfred Franz Emil Freiherr von Oppenheim (born June 26, 1864 in Cologne ; died February 15, 1932 there ) was a German banker and partner in the Cologne bank Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie .

Life

Simon Alfred was the only son among five children of the banker Eduard von Oppenheim and his wife Amalie Heuser.

In 1886 he joined the bank, which was then run by Eduard and Albert Oppenheim, became a partner in 1893 and, after the death of his father in 1913, became the bank's senior partner. In economically difficult times, he was able to save the bank through cooperation with the A. Levy and Roberthorsenges banking house. After military service and a serious car accident, Simon Alfred returned to Cologne wounded in 1916 and took over the management of the bank again as a member of the supervisory board of a large number of companies.

Marriage to Florence Mathews Hutchins (1868–1935) had four children:

He died at the age of 67 on February 15, 1932 in Cologne.
