Simon d'Armentières
Simon d'Armentières OSB (* in France ; † May 7, 1297 in Rome ) was a cardinal of the Roman Church . He is also listed under the names Simon de Caritate and Simon de La Charité .
Life
The Benedictine ("Cluniac") of the Abbey of Cluny was prior of Coincy, Cellerar of Cluny and from 1275 prior of the monastery of La Charité-sur-Loire . Pope Celestine V made him cardinal priest of Santa Balbina all'Aventino on September 18, 1294 . Simon d'Armentières was a participant in the conclave of 1294, from which Boniface VIII emerged as pope.
He was buried in the Roman church of Santi Silvestro e Martino ai Monti .
