Simone Borsano

Simone Borsano (also Brossano ; * probably around 1310; † August 27, 1381 in Nice ) was a cardinal of the Catholic Church .

He studied at the University of Perugia , where he obtained a doctorate in civil and canon law. From 1369 to 1376 he was Archbishop of Milan . Pope Gregory XI. appointed him cardinal in May 1375. Borsano participated as a voter in the conclave in April 1378 , the Urban VI. elected to the Pope. At the conclave in September 1378, which elected the antipope Clement VII , Borsano was present, but did not vote. Together with Cardinal Orsini he traveled to Nice at the end of 1380, where he died and was buried.
