Simone Kaya

Simone Kaya (* 1937 in Bouaflé , Ivory Coast ; † June 7, 2007 in Ouagadougou , Burkina Faso ) was a writer from the Ivory Coast.

Life

Kaya's ancestors come from what is now Burkina Faso . Her father was from Ouagadougou .

Kaya spent her childhood with three sisters and four brothers in her native Bouaflé. Her father sent her to the school in Bocanda . At the age of 13 she continued her education in France . After completing her training as a nurse, she moved to Brazzaville and later to Yaoundé .

After that she lived in Abidjan , also Ivory Coast , with two of her four adult children. In addition to her writing, she also worked as a nurse and social worker in the hospital.
