Simple (company)

Simpel GmbH is a Swiss bicycle manufacturer that sells bicycles under the Simpel.ch brand . The company's first headquarters were in Maschwanden in the canton of Zurich .

Simpel was founded in 2000 by bicycle mechanic Philip Douglas together with Joachim Schneebeli. The business idea was to sell low-maintenance, long-lasting city bikes over the Internet; for this purpose Simpel only uses hub gears and hub dynamos . The frame number stamped on the frame is also an email address that can be used to contact the owner of lost bikes.

Simpel is the manufacturer of the “ Fahrrad 12 ”, the third model of orderly bicycles for the Swiss Army introduced in 2012 , which replaces the orderly wheel 05 and the bicycle 93 .
