The Emivest Aerospace SJ30 from Emivest Aerospace Corporation (EAC) belongs to the category of light business aircraft . Series production should start from 2009. The first airworthy model was completed in 1996 by the original manufacturer Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corporation Inc. (SSAC) under the designation SJ 30-2 .

Manufacturer / history

The original design for the aircraft goes back to Ed Swearingen , who already worked on the construction of the Learjet . In contrast to other designers, Ed Swearingen was of the opinion that giving up a high cruising speed and range in favor of a large cabin was a mistake. For this reason, the SJ30 only has a small cabin, but sets standards in terms of speed and range.

The original manufacturer was the San Antonio- based company Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corporation Inc. (SSAC) , which has struggled with financial problems several times in the course of its history. The development of the aircraft began in the late 1980s under the name SA30 Fanjet . Production progressed only slowly. The SJ30-2 model has been flying since November 8, 1996, and flight tests only started at the end of 2000. To this end, a Taiwanese investment company got involved in Sino Swearingen and financed the expensive test procedures for obtaining American approval from the FAA in 2006. In 2008, most of the shares were taken over by investors from the UAE.

Emivest Aerospace SJ30

By June 2008, the company was almost completely taken over by Emivest (Emirates Investment and Development Corporation) from the UAE (80% of the shares) and Taiwan and renamed Emivest Aerospace Corporation (EAC) . The SJ30 model received FAA approval in October 2005. Manufacturing takes place in the factories in San Antonio (TX) and Martinsburg (West Virginia) . Under the new management, production was to be increased significantly, to 40–45 aircraft per year from 2010. The US actor and Oscar winner Morgan Freeman has owned an SJ30 (serial number 0010) since 2009.

On 20 October 2010, the Emivest Aerospace Corporation announced to Chapter 11 of the bankruptcy law of the United States bankruptcy to apply to sell with the aim of the company or close. The company was in April 2011 in the course of insolvency proceedings on in Cedar City (Utah) based firm Metalcraft Technologies LLC for 3.5 million US dollars sold.

SyberJet

Metalcraft Technologies LLC owner David Grant announced in June 2011 that it would be renaming the company SyberJet Aircraft and the aircraft SyberJet. Metalcraft has been the manufacturer of the aircraft fuselage since the program began.

Technical feature

The SJ30 is relatively compact with a wingspan of 12.90 m, a length of 14.26 m and a height of 4.33 m. The outstanding performance of the SJ30 in terms of speed and range are among others. a. Thanks to their ability to operate at particularly great heights. The cell is designed for a pressure difference of 12  psi (over 800 mbar), which means that the air pressure in the cabin up to a service ceiling of 41,000  ft (approx. 12.5 km) is similar to that at sea level. The maximum service peak is 49,000 ft (almost 15 km). B. a Boeing 777 only a maximum of 43,000 ft (about 13.1 km).

The ability to operate at great heights, coupled with the small cabin and a relatively low curb weight of 3.5 tons, enable the SJ30 to non-stop at a maximum take-off mass of 5987 kg with 2200 kg of fuel up to 2500  nm (over 4600 km) to fly. One to two pilots and up to 7 passengers or a maximum of 635 kg payload are possible. The SJ30 two two-shaft is driven turbofan - engines Williams FJ44 -2A.

The price of a typical SJ30 was quoted at about $ 7.5 million at the 2008 Farnborough Air Show .
