history

View of the walled triumphal arch

The church, consecrated to St. Eligius until the Reformation , was built in the 14th century. The tower and nave are from this time. The church was enlarged in a cross shape at the beginning of the 16th century by adding two transepts. After the introduction of the Reformation , only the nave was used as a Reformed sermon church. In the 18th century the choir and the northern transverse arm were laid down and the triumphal arch was walled up. In the course of a restoration in 1966, the south transept was separated from the nave. A sacristy is attached to the east.

The parish belongs to the uniate Protestantse Kerk in Nederland, which was created in 2004 .

organ

The organ was installed in 1905 by the organ builder JMW Stooker (Hilversum). It is not known where the instrument came from and by whom it was built. It was probably built in the 19th century and has 6 stops on a manual (C – f 3 : Prestant 8 ′, Bourdon 8 ′, Salicionaal 8 ′, Octaaf 4 ′, Fluit 4 ′, Octaaf 2 ′) and has a tremulant fitted. The pedal (C – d 1 ) is attached.
