Sinziger linden tree

The Sinziger Linde is a tree in Sinzig at the Rhine Gorge , which the local picture of the town impressed.

The linden tree stands at the confluence of Koblenzer Strasse and Lindenstrasse; it was planted around 1550. In 1952 the tree was recognized as a natural monument . 2000 Linde threatened the precipitation as it, according to the county government Ahrweiler the traffic safety hazardous. The Sinziger Linde Natural Monument Association, founded in the same year, set itself the goal of preventing this felling.

In July 2009 the trunk circumference at a height of one meter was 5.46 m.
