Sirimongkol Singwangcha ( Thai ศิริมงคล สิงห์ วังชา , RTGS Sirimongkon Singwangcha , also: Sirimongkon Singmanatsak ( ศิริมงคล สิงห์ มนัส ศักดิ์ ), real name: Sirimongkon Iamthuan ( ศิริมงคล เอี่ยม ท้วม ); born March 2, 1977 in Amphoe Thanyaburi , Pathum Thani , Thailand ) is a thai boxer . He competed in the super feather and bantamweight classes , among others . He is currently active in the light welterweight division and holds the WBO Asia Pacific title in this weight class . He is a standard boom and is managed by Naris Singhawancha .

Career

Sirimongkol Singwangcha won the WBC interim title in bantamweight on August 10, 1996 and was declared WBC world champion without a fight in January of the following year. He defended the title in both February and April and in July of the same year and lost it in November to Jōichirō Tatsuyoshi , also of the same year.

Five years later, on August 28, 2002, he met the Japanese Kengo Nagashima in the super featherweight division . In this battle, the WBC's vacant world championship belt was at stake. Sirimongkol knocked out Nagashima heavily in the second round and thus secured the title. He defended it the following year against Yong-Soo Choi and lost it to Jesus Chavez .
