Sirogojno
Sirogojno ( Serbian - Cyrillic Сирогојно ) is a village in Serbia with 763 inhabitants (as of 2002). It is part of the Čajetina municipality belonging to the Zlatibor district .
geography
Sirogojno is located in the west of the country at 911 meters above sea level. in the Zlatibor Mountains . The Stopića limestone cave is located near the village .
Attractions
The village is one of the Serbian cultural monuments of particular importance. The biggest attraction in Sirogojno is the open-air museum Muzej Staro selo ( Museum Old Village ), which depicts life in the Zlatibor region in the 19th century on almost 15 hectares. The traditional wooden houses, a bakery, a dairy and an old restaurant are shown.
The Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Peter and Paul from 1764 was rebuilt with works by the icon painter Simeon Lazović. Next to the church is the village's Orthodox cemetery.
