Sisomphon Lovansay

Sisomphon Lovansay (* 1916 , † 1994 ) was a Laotian politician of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LRVP).

Life

Sisomphon Lovansay was on the first Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) on 22 March 1955 Member of the Executive Committee of the LPRP, making it one next Kaysone Phomvihane , nouhak phoumsavanh , Souphanouvong , phoumi vongvichit , Khamtay Siphandone and Phoun Sipaseut the first top officials from newly formed party. At the 2nd Party Congress (3 to 6 February 1972) he became a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee, which had emerged from the Executive Committee and to which he belonged until the 4th Party Congress (13 to 15 November 1991). At the 2nd Party Congress on February 6, 1972, he also became a member of the Central Committee's secretariat and was a member of it until November 15, 1986. After the 4th party congress (April 27-30, 1982) chairman of the constitutional commission, which was advised by experts from the GDR and drafted a socialist constitution.

Sisomphon Lovansay was vice-president of the Supreme People's Assembly for several years and in 1986 he succeeded Souphanouvong as President of the Supreme People's Assembly. He held this office until 1989, when Nouhak Phoumsavanh succeeded him. After leaving the Politburo in 1991, he became an advisor to the Central Committee of the Central Committee alongside Souphanouvong and Phoumi Vongvichit.
