Sisophon ( Serei Saophoan ) ( Khmer : សិរីសោភ័ណ ) is the capital of the Cambodian province of Banteay Meanchey .
The city is located in the Serei Saophoan district , on National Road 5 and National Road 6 . In 1998 Sisophon had a population of 61,482 (1998 census), in 2008 it was 61,631 (2008 census).
