The roots of the Sivantos Group go back to 1878, when Werner Siemens developed a telephone receiver that enabled significantly improved transmission quality. Many technologies were first used in Siemens hearing aids worldwide, such as the wireless connection of two hearing aids to form a binaural hearing system. The developers were awarded the Federal President's German Future Prize in 2012.

Sivantos was created in 2015 when Siemens AG sold its Siemens Audiology Solutions to EQT VI and Santo Holding GmbH.
Sivantos signed the United Nation Global Compact in 2017 . All companies in the UN Global Compact are obliged to report their progress in implementing the 10 principles and their activities to promote sustainable development. This annual Communication on Progress (COP) by Sivantos was published on May 24, 2018 on the UN website.
