Sixten Sild

Sixten Sild (born June 19, 1964 in Tartu ) is a former Estonian orienteer who started earlier for the Soviet Union .

From 1989 to 1999 Sild took part in five world championships. In 1991 he was in the Czechoslovakian Mariánské Lázně world championship third on the long distance behind the Swedes Jörgen Mårtensson and Kent Olsson . In 1993 Sild started for Estonia at the orienteering world championships. However, he was unable to match his third place. With the relay he was in 1993 and 1995 respectively 17th. In 1995 he reached tenth place in the long distance in Germany. In his last World Cup participation in 1999, he was ninth with the relay.

At Estonian championships, Sild won a total of 49 medals (34 gold, 5 silver and 10 bronze medals) between 1985 and 1999.

His sons Timo Sild (* 1988) and Lauri Sild (* 1990) are also international orienteers.
