Sjarhej Balachonau (or Siarhiej Bałachonaŭ , Belarusian Сяргей Балахонаў ) (born April 24, 1977 in Svjazilawitschy , Wetka Rajon , Homelskaja Woblasz ) is a Belarusian writer .

biography

According to official sources, Balachonau was born in Homel . His actual birthplace, however, is the village of Svyazilavichy. Balachonau graduated from secondary school No. 49 in Homel with an in-depth study of the German language (1994) and the history faculty of the Homel State University (1999). In 2000 he served in the armed forces of Belarus . Since 2001 he has worked as a history and social studies teacher in Homel.

Create

The literary work of Balachonau began in 1992, but none of the works he had written until autumn 1998 was published. These are the poetry collections The Sun runs ( Сонцавароты ) The frost sheets ( Брама сталасьці ), Belarusian My ... ( «Мой беларускі ...") The twentieth eye of spring ( Дваццатае вока вясны ), The Hunt for the text ( Паляваньне на тэкст ), the unfinished epic poem day, my beloved! ( Прывітаньне, мая каханая ), Ales Halscheuski ( Алесь Гальшэўскі ), some utopian novels and the story The Unherbst has met them ( Іх спаткала нявосень ).

In 1998, some of his works appeared in the underground magazine Symbol and the newspapers Nascha Slowa ( Our Word ) and Nascha Niwa ( Our Acker ). From 1999 his diaries, the edited city ​​legends, modern sagas , the sketches , the historical mystifications , the poems, the musical reviews, etc. a. published in Nascha Niwa .

From 1999 to 2000 the newspaper of the Homel Association of Belarusian Students SuBaSzik ( Beißling ) printed a number of Balachonau's texts.

In 2001 Balachonau made his debut in ARCHE magazine . In the synopsis of his work Death of the Lute Player ( Сьмерць лютністы ), the author's work was referred to postmodernism for the first time .

In 2005, the Czech magazine Host published his literary article Někdo tam je, aneb Rozcestí nové běloruské literatury . At the end of 2005, the publisher Ihar Lohwinau published the writer's first book, the prose collection The Name of the Pear ( Імя грушы ). At the beginning of 2007 this book was nominated for the Hliniany Viales - 2006 literature prize.

Balachonau's tale The Snow by Captain Montgomery ( Сьнег капітана Мантгомэры ) was published in 2006 in the Almanac Kalosse ( The ears of corn, editor Ales Arkusch ). A selection of his works can be found in the audio book of Modern Belarusian Literature Night Reading ( Начная чытанка ) from 2007.

He participated in music projects “ Tuzin. Perasagruzka ”in 2009,“ Budzma! Tuzin. Perasagruzka-2 ”in 2011.

In addition, Balachonau has translated some songs by the Rammstein music group into the Belarusian language.
