Eurapejskaje Radyjo dlja Belarusi (ERB; German : European Radio for Belarus ) is a radio broadcaster in Belarusian based in Warsaw . ERB was founded in 2005. The radio has been available since February 26, 2006.

program

Similar to other foreign broadcasters (e.g. Belaruskaje Radyjo Razyja , Radyjo Svaboda or Belsat ), ERB should give listeners in Belarus the opportunity to receive up-to-date, objective information on events in Belarus and the world. ERB is supposed to be an alternative to the state-controlled media in Belarus.

ERB's program is organized by journalists in Warsaw and Minsk and other areas of Belarus. The editorial office is based in Warsaw. ERB employees in Belarus are subject to repression by state organs in their work. In the spring of 2008, for example, numerous employees from foreign media were arrested.

The program Akno u Europu (German: Window to Europe ) is financed by the European Commission .

The radio broadcaster released the double compilation album " Budzma The Best Rock / Budzma The Best Rock / New " by Belarusian rock bands in 2009 and supported the Be Free festival .

reception

The programs are broadcast via VHF on the frequencies of the Polish radio station Radio dla Ciebie , the Ukrainian station Melodija , and the Lithuanian Polish-language station Radio Znad Wilii . Terrestrially, ERB can be received one to two hours a day in the Belarusian town of Breszkaja Woblasz and neighboring areas. ERB broadcasts all day on 68.24 MHz from Visaginas (Lithuania), via satellite ( Hot Bird 6 ) and the Internet .
