Scale pound

A curiosity is the earlier scale pound , actually artillery scale weight , of the Russian artillery . It referred to the weight of a cannon ball from cast iron . The diameter of this sphere was 2 Russian inches and was fixed at a temperature of 13 1/3 Réaumur . The weight was

  • 1 scale pound = 11,008.56 Doli = 0.873489 Austrian / Viennese pounds.
  • 1 pound = 489.1637 grams = 1.04587 Prussian pounds.

Doli means parts and was derived from the Berkowetz as a ship measure .

  • 1 Berkowetz = 10 puds (1 pud = 16.388 kilograms ) = 400 pounds with 96 solotnik each with 96 doli each
