Skander Souayah

Skander Souayah (born November 20, 1972 in Sfax ) is a former Tunisian football player . The midfielder was a Tunisian international .

He started his career in 1992 at CS Sfax . With Sfax he became Tunisian champion and cup winner in 1995. In 1998 the CAF Cup and in 2000 the UAFA Cup were won. In 2001 he moved to Espérance Sportive de Tunis . Between 2002 and 2004 he was Tunisian champion three times in a row with Espérance. In 2005 he ended his career.

Souayah was called up to the Tunisian national team 38 times between 1993 and 2002 and scored seven goals. He took part in the 1998 World Cup for his country and scored the only Tunisian goal in the tournament in a 1-1 draw against group winners Romania . In March 2002 he was tested positive for nandrolone during the doping control after the international match against Norway and banned for six months.
