Skard (Faroe Islands)
Skarð [ ˈskɛaɹ ] is a deserted place in the Faroe Islands on the east coast of the north island of Kunoy .
On December 23, 1913, all seven men in the settlement died while fishing. As a result, the bereaved women left the place with their children. In 1919 the last woman moved away from here. One of the boats involved at the time is now hanging in Christianskirkjan in Klaksvík.
There is a very easy hiking trail along the coast from Haraldssund . The other hiking trail from Skarð over to the west coast to Kunoy, on the other hand, is demanding and only recommended for experienced hikers; There is a difference in altitude of about 600 meters on it.
