Ski Club Haid

The SC Haid (officially: amateur SKI CLUB HAID Raiffeisen ) is a South Tyrolean sports club that has its origins in St. Valentin on the Haide in the municipality of Graun in Vinschgau .

The club was founded on July 1st, 1905 under the name "Skiclub Obervinschgau". The first ski races were held in the same year and to this day the association has a good name in the organization of ski races. In addition to the ski races organized by the association, the Haiderseelauf, the forest festival and the winter sports exchange should also be mentioned. The amateur SKI CLUB HAID Raiffeisen is one of the oldest ski clubs in the Alps and the oldest ski club in South Tyrol. Today the association has 350 members.

history

The founding members include Cassian Baldauf, Heinrich Stecher, Valentin Stecher, Josef Hofer, Dr. Schuster ( Ulm ), Dr. Denninger (Ulm), Baehrendt ( Meran ). In addition to the founding members, the Austrian Finance Guard also endeavored to promote the association. In the statutes, the purpose of the ski club is outlined in the following words: "Promotion and dissemination of skiing without following a political tendency."

Major sporting events

  • 1st ski race in St. Valentin 1905 (30 participants)
  • 1st ski jumping in St. Valentin 1908
  • 1st downhill race in St. Valentin 1947

Numerous different winter sports competitions followed. The most important and largest event of the club in recent years was the 2003 Italian Championship, which was held on the Haideralm (now part of the Schöneben ski area ). The Haid Ski Club has been a member of FISI since 1949

Honors

  • In 2006 the club was awarded honorary membership in the Association of South Tyrolean Sports Clubs.
  • In 2007 the association for exemplary youth work was honored.
