The Skwosch-Fösche Marburg are a squash club from Marburg .

Club history

The Skwosch frogs were founded on April 29, 1984. After the first men's team was already represented in the second-highest German division from 1989 to 1991, the club succeeded in moving into the 1st squash Bundesliga in 2003 by taking over a license . After the main sponsor withdrew in 2006, the club had to leave the Bundesliga again. In the three years it was successful twice in the playoffs for the German championship .

In the 2012/13 season, the first men's team was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga South. Reinforced by the German national player Rudi Rohrmüller and the young Czech national player Martin Švec, the team won the championship title as promoted players. At the same time, the second and third men's teams were promoted to the Hessen and the district leagues, making the 2013/14 season one of the most successful in the club's history.

As a result of the restructuring of the Squash Bundesliga, which meant a reallocation of the first and second leagues into the three groups Bundesliga North / Middle / South, Marburg played the 2014/2015 season in the Bundesliga middle and ended up in the lower midfield . The withdrawal of the main sponsor and the departure of the two top performers Rudi Rohrmüller and Martin Švec to the squash club of the Sportwerk Hamburg Walddörfer prompted the club again to withdraw from the squash Bundesliga.

With the start of the 2015/16 season, the Skwosch frogs provided three men's teams in the Hessenliga, Landesliga Nord and Bezirksliga Nord, as well as three women's teams in the Hessian women's league.

As of September 2015, the association had 80 members.
