Wieland Albert Wilhelm Schinnenburg (born November 12, 1958 in Norden ) is a German politician ( FDP ), dentist and lawyer . He was state chairman of the FDP Hamburg and belonged to the Hamburg parliament from 2001 to 2004 and from 2011 to 2017 . He has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2017 .

Life

Wieland Schinnenburg studied dentistry from 1978 to 1984 at the Hannover Medical School and the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . After his state examination, he received his doctorate in dentistry in 1985 and worked as a salaried dentist from 1984 to 1987. From 1987 until his election to the German Bundestag in 2017, he ran his own practice in Oststeinbek near Hamburg.

In addition to his work as a dentist, he began studying law at the University of Hamburg in 1989 , which he completed in 1994 with the first state examination; In 1997 the second state examination followed at the Higher Regional Court of Celle . During his studies he did study visits and internships in Port-au-Prince , Los Angeles , Chiang Mei , Jerusalem and Washington, DC In 1998, Schinnenburg opened a law firm next to his dental practice . Schinnenburg has been a specialist lawyer for medical law since 2006 and a mediator since 2007 . He has three children.

Schinnenburg joined the FDP in 1981. From 1981 to 1983 he was a member of the national board of the Young Liberals and from 1987 to 1989 a member of the state board of the Hamburg FDP.

From 2001 to 2004 Schinnenburg belonged to the Hamburg citizenship and was deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group. From 2006 to 2007 he was the successor of Leif Schrader as regional chairman of the Hamburg FDP. In 2007, the Hamburg FDP elected him as the top candidate for the 2008 state election , but Schinnenburg resigned from all offices a month later. As a justification he gave "insufficient support at the management level". Hinnerk Fock was his successor in the office of Chairman of the State Executive Committee . When the FDP was able to move back into parliament for the first time since 2004 after the general election in 2011 , Schinnenburg became vice-president. In the 2015 general election , Schinnenburg won another mandate.

In the 2017 federal election , Schinnenburg was elected to the 19th German Bundestag alongside Katja Suding via the FDP's Hamburg state list and resigned from his seat in the parliament ; for him Ewald Aukes moved up. In the Bundestag he holds the office of secretary and is a member of the Committee on Health , a deputy member of the Legal Committee and deputy chairman of the German-Korean parliamentary group . For the FDP parliamentary group , he is the spokesman for drug and addiction policy as well as responsible for psychotherapy, remedies and aids, prevention, contraceptives, HIV and European law.
