Hermann Ferdinand Arning

Hermann Ferdinand Arning (born July 7, 1911 in Hamburg ; † November 25, 1987 there ) was a German lawyer and politician ( FDP ).

Life

Hermann Ferdinand Arning studied law at the universities of Heidelberg , Munich , Berlin and Hamburg . From 1938 he practiced as a lawyer for publishing, press and competition law in Hamburg. He had been legal counsel for the Association of German Magazine Publishers in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein from 1947, and one year later he moved to Axel Springer Verlag as chief legal counsel , where he also took on the role of authorized representative for electronic publications from 1964 to 1967. In 1968 he left the publishing house. In the 1970s he was managing director and partner of Herz Blatt-Verlag.

From 1962 to 1978 Arning was a deputy of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg for the FDP . From 1969 to 1975, when he was third-placed in a voting against Peter-Heinz Müller-Link and the newly elected Helga Schuchardt , he was state chairman of the FDP Hamburg . At the same time he was a member of the FDP federal executive committee .

In the federal elections in 1965 and 1969 , Arning ran for 7th place on the state list of the FDP Hamburg , but was unable to move into the German Bundestag as a member of the Bundestag . He also ran in the Hamburg state election in 1966 , but was unsuccessful in the candidacy for the state parliament.
