Slapanský les

The Slapanský les (German: Erlholz ) is a forest area on a ridge between the border with Germany and the place Podhrad (German: Pograth ) in the Výhledská vrchovina (German about: Oberkunreuther Bergland ), south of the town of Cheb (German: Eger ) im Karlovarský kraj (German: Karlsbad region ) in the Czech Republic .

geography

The ridge consists of several hills around the U Lomu (German: quarry , 515 m). The road 2143 runs through the forest area from Cheb to Slapany and on the southern edge the Odrava (German: Wondreb ) flows to the Jesenice dam .

Tourist development

A path runs from the abandoned town of Krásná Lípa (German: Schönlind ) to the Krásná Lípa (German: beautiful lime tree ) viewpoint .

history

In the past, the existing quarries served as a source of raw materials for the cities of Eger and Waldsassen.
