The Wondreb ( Odrava in Czech ) is a 58.4 km long, southern and right tributary of the Eger in Germany and the Czech Republic . About 39 km of the almost 59 km total length are in the Bavarian district of Tirschenreuth . The name Wondreb is of Slavic origin.
course
The two source streams of the Wondreb, the Nikolausbach and the Neugrünbach , arise a few kilometers west of the Bavarian-Czech border in the mountain range between Waldsassen and Mähring in the Upper Palatinate Stiftland .
After the confluence in Poppenreuth , the Wondreb runs in an arc - initially in a north-westerly, then in a north and finally in a north-easterly direction - through the Tirschenreuth district, where it passes some former iron hammers and water mills and through the places Wondreb , Großensees , Waldsassen , Hundsbach and Schloppach flows. The depression between Leonberg / Mitterteich and the Jesenice reservoir is known as the Wondreb Graben .
It then flows to the Czech Republic, where the Mohelský potok ( Muglbach ) coming from Starý Hrozňatov (Altkinsberg ) flows to the right. Then, the river feeds the east of Cheb (Eger) located Jesenice . The Wondreb flows to Obilná and Odrava past and ends at Mostov (Mostau) in the Eger .
Others
The catchment area of the Wondreb is 497.5 km², of which 263.4 km² are in Bavaria. A 213.04 hectare part of the river landscape between Tirschenreuth and Leonberg has been designated as a nature reserve Wondrebaue since 1989 .
