The Wondrebaue is a nature reserve near Tirschenreuth in the Upper Palatinate district of Tirschenreuth in Bavaria .
The nature reserve is located 4.6 kilometers north of Tirschenreuth and 5 kilometers southeast of Leonberg . It is part of the somewhat larger FFH area of Wondrebaue and the adjacent pond areas .
The 213 hectare area is named after the river Wondreb . Here an approximately 3.2 km long, near-natural valley section of the Wondreb between Großenseeser and Pfaffenreuther Wald with adjacent side valleys is under protection. Agricultural use has largely been abandoned and so a large variety of communities of a near-natural stream valley could develop undisturbed in a relatively small area. Here in the Naab-Wondreb Depression there are floodplains, tall herbaceous meadows, litter meadows rich in rushes and sedge , flat moor and small sedge swamps as well as extensive pond areas.
The nature reserve was designated on August 15, 1989.
