The moor near Bärnau is a nature reserve near Bärnau in the Upper Palatinate district of Tirschenreuth in Bavaria .

The nature reserve is 3.3 kilometers south-east of Bärnau and is right on the Czech border. It is part of the Northern Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park , the LSG landscape protection area within the Northern Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park (formerly a protection zone) and the almost congruent but somewhat larger FFH area moorland near Bärnau .

Despite its relatively small area, the 37 hectare area includes a large number of regionally characteristic wetland types. Central drainage ditches could be partially closed and thus the communities typical of moors could be preserved and restored. It is a historically significant, near-natural moor area with raised moor relics , transitional moor and flat moor areas , moor forests as well as wet and littered meadows.

The nature reserve was designated on February 18, 1994.
