Northern Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park
The north-eastern Bavarian Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park is 1,380 km² in size and includes the entire district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab , southern parts of the Tirschenreuth district and the town of Weiden in the Upper Palatinate . It extends beyond the eponymous Upper Palatinate Forest to the Rauhen Kulm . With the adjacent natural parks Fichtelgebirge , Steinwaldhaus and Oberpfälz forest nature Park Northern Oberpfälzer forms forest a closed natural park area along the Czech border.
On May 7, 2009, the first information point in the Northern Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park was opened in the Burgtreswitz palace complex .
