Slavko Kacunko

Slavko Kacunko (born March 20, 1964 in Osijek ) is an art historian , media theorist and philosopher living in Germany .

biography

In 1993 he graduated from the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Zagreb with a degree in art history and philosophy . In 1991 he was one of the co-founders of Croatia's first art magazine, "Kontura" Zagreb. In 1998 he received his doctorate in art history from the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf under Hans Körner . In 2006 he completed his habilitation at the University of Osnabrück , where he was junior professor for modern art history until August 2009 .

From April 2010 to September 2011, Kacunko was W2 substitute professor for image science and media aesthetics at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . He then took over the professorship for art history and visual culture at the University of Copenhagen (until December 2019). In 2014 he was elected to the Academia Europaea .
