Claudius Lieven

Claudius Lieven (born July 21, 1968 in Bruchsal ) is a Hamburg politician on the Green Alternative List (GAL), a regional association of Alliance 90 / The Greens .

Life

Claudius Lieven attended school in Berlin, Bremen and Hamburg. He has lived in Hamburg since 1981. He studied political science , Romance languages and psychology at the University of Hamburg and earned a diploma in political science. After completing his studies, he initially worked for the Hamburg urban development companies STEG and Stattbau, then from 2001 as a consultant for urban development and migration at the GAL citizens' parliamentary group. Since May 2008 Lieven has been working in the Hamburg Authority for Urban Development and Housing. There he heads the “Hamburger Stadtwerkstatt”, a platform for citizen participation in urban development. Lieven is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Vhw - Federal Association for Housing and Urban Development and a member of the Diverse Democracy Alliance of the Bertelsmann Foundation . He is scientifically concerned with the further development of methods for digital participation.

Before joining the GAL, Lieven u. a. in the squatter and anti-nuclear movement and in the conflict over Hafenstrasse . At the beginning of the 1990s, he and other residents founded a residential project in Hamburg's Karolinenviertel .

Lieven has been a member of GAL since 1997. Lieven sat in the Central District Assembly from 1997 to 2004, from 2001 to 2004 he was chairman of the GAL parliamentary group there and from 2011 to 2013 chairman of the GAL district association Hamburg-Mitte.

From 2004 to 2008 Lieven was a member of the Hamburg Parliament . During this time he was the specialist spokesman for the GAL in the areas of urban development, construction and housing and a member of the building and transport committee, the environmental committee, the commission for urban development and the commission for zoning of the citizens. From 2010 to 2011 Lieven was again a member of the citizenry and was a member of the Social Committee, Family Committee and Integration Advisory Board.

The main focus of his parliamentary work was urban development and the like. a. in avoiding CO 2 emissions through ecological building in order to protect the climate. Lieven played a key role in the development of the GAL concept of the “Creative City” Hamburg and published a concept for “ The Social City ” in 2006 under the title ankoppeleln instead of depend . In the elections on February 24, 2008 , Lieven failed to re-enter the citizenry. After Nebahat Güçlü resigned her mandate in April 2010, Claudius Lieven moved back into the citizenship and became spokesman for social and integration policy. After the citizenship election in February 2011, he left the citizenship again.
