Slickenside Face ( English ) is a rock face on the Antarctic Ross Island . It is part of the cliffs of Turks Head on the shores of Erebus Bay .

The Australian geologist Frank Debenham named it in 1912 as part of the Terra Nova Expedition (1910-1913) under the direction of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott . The name is derived from the English term for a slippery surface in a geological break .
