The Turks Head ( English for Turks main ) is a more than 200 m high and striking headland on the west coast of the Antarctic Ross Island . It projects 8 km east-southeast of Cape Evans , the Erebus Bay in and limited the east Turks Head Bay .
Participants in the Discovery Expedition (1901-1904), led by British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott, discovered and named them. It is named after its resemblance to a head carrying turbocharger .
