The Sloss Islands are an uninhabited group of islands in the Louisiade archipelago . Politically, they are part of the Milne Bay Province in southeast Papua New Guinea .
The Sloss Islands belong to the chain of Calvados Islands . The coral islands covered with dense vegetation are located 6 km west of Utian (Brooker Island) and 12 km northeast of Pana Vara Vara.
The archipelago consists of two islands, Rara (19 ha ) and Pana Roba (17 ha). The highest elevation on Rara is 35 m. The island is located on the northeast side of the Tawal Reef. Pana Roba on the northwest side of the reef is up to 33 m high.
