Career
De Santis was born to an Italian and a Serbian girl. She was musically influenced by her father, who regularly makes music at events, weddings, dinner shows as well as for the radio. She started singing at the age of six and won a singing competition in her hometown when she was ten. Then she took piano and dance lessons.
After finishing secondary school in Offenburg, she studied pop music design for a few semesters at the Popakademie in Mannheim and then began to work professionally as a singer. At the invitation of a producer, she went to Brazil in 2009 , where she recorded her debut album with Universal Brasil under the title Ornella di Santis, Made in Brasil .
At the beginning of 2012 she took part in the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 , in which she reached the final. There she lost to Roman Lob on February 16, 2012 with just under 49.3 percent in the televoting . Her final song Quietly debuted in the top ten of the German iTunes single charts in the days after the decision. Since 2012 she has been working again at Europa-Park, where she sings in various shows. She is also cast for the female lead in the musicals Spook Me (2014 to 2017) and Rulantica (since 2018 & 2019), which are performed in the Teatro in the Italian themed area. Ornella De Santis can currently be heard as one of the lead voices in the song “Feel Free” (released May 26, 2020) (produced by Ruben Rodriguez and Thilo Zirr). Under the name “Europa United”, the artists of Europa Park stand together for the first time as a band and dance formation in front of the camera.
