The song was first featured in the Our Star for Baku finals as one of three potential winning titles. 76.8 percent of the audience voted for this title, so Roman Lob also won the preliminary round with it. The song is interpreted by Roman Lob , who finished eighth with 110 points. This was the best German placement since 2010 and should remain so until 2018 , when Michael Schulte took fourth place.
A slightly modified version of Standing Still is available from the German-Italian pop singer Ornella de Santis . She was narrowly defeated by Roman Lob in the final of “Our Star for Baku” on February 16, 2012.
